The Ultimate Guide to Weight Loss: Combining Zepbound with a Carnivore-Keto Lifestyle

When it comes to weight loss, we often envision strict diets, grueling workouts, and sacrifices akin to packing up our favorite snacks and sending them off to Mars. But what if I told you that you could achieve your weight loss goals without feeling like you’re in a dietary boot camp? Thanks to the magic of GLP-1 agonists like Zepbound, combined with the carnivore-keto lifestyle, my journey from 325lbs to 188lbs in just 13 months has been nothing short of miraculous—and humorous.

Understanding GLP-1 Agonists: Zepbound

GLP-1 agonists, like Zepbound, are a class of medications that mimic the glucagon-like peptide-1. This hormone plays a crucial role in regulating appetite and glucose levels. Zepbound helps to:

  • Reduce appetite: Making you less likely to raid the fridge at midnight.
  • Slow gastric emptying: Keeping you fuller for longer and making that steak dinner feel like a feast.
  • Improve glycemic control: Helping manage blood sugar levels and decreasing those pesky cravings.

The Carnivore-Keto Lifestyle

Combining the carnivore diet with the keto diet sounds like a culinary dream come true for meat lovers. Here’s what it entails:

Carnivore Diet

Imagine a diet where steak, bacon, and ribs are not just permitted but celebrated. The carnivore diet focuses exclusively on animal products, leading to benefits such as:

  • High protein intake: Keeping you satiated and making muscle-building a breeze.
  • Elimination of carbs: Leading to reduced inflammation and improved metabolic health.
  • Simple meal planning: Because who needs a grocery list when you’re basically shopping in the meat section?

Keto Diet

The keto diet emphasizes high-fat, moderate-protein, and low-carb foods. When combined with the carnivore diet, this lifestyle promotes:

  • Ketosis: A metabolic state where your body burns fat for fuel, turning you into a fat-burning machine.
  • Enhanced mental clarity: Because fewer carbs mean fewer brain fog days.
  • Steady energy levels: No more sugar spikes and crashes—just sustained energy to conquer the day.

My Weight Loss Journey: From 325lbs to 188lbs

Now, let’s talk numbers. In 13 months, I went from a hefty 325lbs to a lean 188lbs. How, you ask? It was a combination of Zepbound, a carnivore-keto diet, and a pinch of humor.

The Early Days

Starting this journey was like stepping onto a roller coaster. I bid farewell to my carb-loaded favorites—goodbye, pizza and pasta! The first few weeks were challenging, but Zepbound began to work its magic, curbing my appetite and keeping my cravings in check.

Mid-Journey Insights

By month six, I was already seeing significant results. My clothes were looser, my energy levels were higher, and I no longer felt like a prisoner to my cravings. Meal prep became my new hobby—think grilling steaks and whipping up bacon-wrapped chicken like a pro. My friends joked that I was single-handedly keeping the meat industry afloat.

The Grand Finale

As I approached month thirteen, I stepped on the scale to see the glorious number: 188lbs. I had achieved what seemed impossible at the start. I celebrated with a feast fitting for the carnivore-keto lifestyle—a steak dinner with buttered asparagus and a side of bone broth. The journey wasn’t just about weight loss; it was about transforming my relationship with food and finding joy in the process.

Humor: The Secret Ingredient

Let’s be real—weight loss journeys can be intense. But keeping a sense of humor made all the difference. From laughing at my failed attempts to create the perfect keto dessert to cracking jokes about my meat-heavy diet, humor kept my spirits high and my motivation intact.

Here are some moments that kept me laughing:

  • Trying to explain my diet to friends: “So, you eat bacon for breakfast, steak for lunch, and ribs for dinner? Are you auditioning for a meat lover’s club?”
  • Shopping trips: “If my grocery cart had a theme song, it would definitely be ‘Eye of the Tiger’ by Survivor. Rawr!”
  • Cooking experiments: “My attempt at a keto cake ended up looking more like a science project gone wrong. But hey, it tasted good!”

Conclusion

Combining Zepbound with a carnivore-keto lifestyle has been a game-changer. From significant weight loss to improved health and a happier outlook, this journey was enriched with humor and dedication. If you’re considering embarking on a similar path, remember to keep laughing—it’s the best way to savor the ride.

So, here’s to health, happiness, and a hearty dose of humor along the way!

The Journey Continues

I started this journey, almost 5 years ago. I truly wanted to get in shape and be there for my kids, not on the sidelines. Unfortunately, life and kids and my willpower was not quite where it needed to be so I fluctuated between 325 and 290, never really getting where I needed to be.

This year was the year I was going to make the change once and for all. I started out in January with the desire to make it happen and in February, I started to make the change. I got introduced to Wegovy by my daughter. I decided to give it a try to see if it would help me with the changes I needed to make and it did. I stayed at the lowest dose, almost micro-dosing in order to help me get going. I did that for 4 months and was able to switch to a very keto-based diet and get through my cravings and desires for carbs.

Between February and May, My weight dropped off drastically, I went from 325 to 260 and had never felt better, in my life. Now during this time, I did follow a “mostly” strict keto diet. I did occasionally fall off the wagon, but I did it in moderation, not in a severe style. What this means is, if I gave in and had ice cream, I would have a small scoop and just enjoy it rather than a large couple scoops or even a full pint to myself like I might of in the past. I found I could actually enjoy the treat, even in small amounts whereas, in the past, I would “enjoy it” or thought I was, but I was just eating for the taste of the sugars and always needed more and more.

One of my favorite finds of all time is using LMNT, this has been such a game-changer for me. I didn’t realize how many of my issues were from dehydration. You don’t think you’re dehydrated, as I knew I didn’t need to drink 8 cups of water every day, that’s a misnomer that people have been led to believe is true, because the food you eat has water/fluid in it too, but my issue was I was eating so many carbs, I was flushing my nutrients I needed such as salt, magnesium, and potassium. I wasn’t getting enough of those so the fluids I was getting, wasn’t doing me much good. LMNT gives me the hydration to go with the fluids and their sparkling version satisfies my love of carbonated drinks without all the bad stuff in most drinks. I drink at least 1, sometimes 2 of these a day (no you really can’t overdo the salt when it’s the right salt, and their website will explain how the science works).

Next week I will be adding information about my current diet and current progress.

Introduction

Hi Everyone, welcome to my weight loss journey blog. I have created this blog to document my weight loss journey and to help others that might be in the same boat and wanting to know, that you can do it at any age or stage in your life.

My name is Jennifer and for the last 35 years, I have been overweight. During my teenage years, it wasn’t too bad, my weight would fluctuate but I was still very active and playing sports regularly. After I started having children, I went from being, mostly in shape, to severely obese with each child. I was 5’8 and never more than 165 lbs, which for someone that played all kinds of sports, was not that bad.

When I had my first son, I was 195 lbs when I delivered him. Though the pregnancy was really very hard on me being my first and there were complications. I spent the next week in the hospital while he had to go through surgery and I can definitely tell you, hospital food is absolutely not very health-friendly. Fast forward a couple of years and I find out that I need to have my gallbladder out. After that surgery, all my favorite foods became a problem for my system, since I was no longer able to produce and store the same about of bile that I used to (though I was unaware of it at the time).

For the next 5 years, I struggled with keeping my weight below 200 and then I met my husband and got pregnant again. By the time I delivered our daughter, I was around 230. I would continue to work on my weight, and it would fluctuate up and down +/-10 lbs until 7 years later I would get pregnant again with our son. While 27 weeks pregnant with him, I had to have surgery to have my right ovary removed due to a hemorrhagic cyst that had formed on my ovary, twisting it off and requiring immediate removal. I was then forced on bed rest after the surgery for the next 13 weeks to avoid him ripping open the stitches. They had to perform a c-section type surgery instead of going in laparoscopic and by the time I delivered him, I was 275 lbs.

After he was born, I was so out of shape, I pretty well gave up on trying to work out and get back into shape and my husband accepted me as I was. Once I hit 45, I really decided I was tired of being overweight, My 2 older children are both out of the house, working and in college, Our youngest is still home and more than anything I want to be there for him, while I can. Play outside with him without being physically and mentally tired all the time. I want to have the energy to run around, ride bikes and do the things I really didn’t get to do with him as he was growing. I also want to know, that when I have grandchildren, I can be a part of their lives and run around with them, take them to sports and other events. I want to be healthy enough to watch them grow up.

I recently found Keto and started watching Thomas Delauer and Dr. Eric Berg. I have learned so much from them about how the body truly works, what my limitations are having no gallbladder and starting to go into pre-menopause and how to work with that rather than let it be another hindrance to my weightloss. They have shown me how I can make changes to my diet that actually work and work well for me, allows me to have regular meals with my family and also how I can incorporate those meals into the family meal without freaking my husband out that I am feeding him “diet” food. I am teaching my children how to make much healthier food choices to avoid them ending up like I did and we have fun making healthy desserts that they can enjoy without worrying about the scale moving up on them the wrong way.

When I started this keto journey 8 weeks ago, I was 325lbs. I have lost weight in between then and now, I just didn’t take pictures of the scale at that time. I will be making posts 3-5 times a week with a once a week weigh in as well as creating youtube videos on some of my favorite meals and treats, documenting this journey. It’s been interesting learning how to change things up. Living down here in the South of Louisiana, the food is amazing and I am loving finding new ways to turn all my favorite cajun foods keto without sacrificing flavor. If you have any questions, I have linked my facebook page and you can email me, I will always respond back as quickly as possible. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
